“Gardens by the Bay will transform Singapore’s living environment”, said Singapore Prime
Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the opening ceremony of the Bay South Garden
yesterday on 29 June 2012.
Located at the central golden area Marina Bay,
Gardens by the Bay will occupy spaces of over 100 hectares. Likening the garden
to Central Park in New York and Hype Park in
London, Gardens by the Bay will be an icon of
the redeveloped Marina
Bay, and a jewel on the
skyline of the city. Singapore have been and always strive to live up its name
as garden city by connecting communities and places through parks, gardens,
street-scapes and sky-rise greenery.
Bay South
Garden is the
largest and first of the gardens that will be the part of the Gardens by the
Bay. Sprawling 54ha, Bay
South Garden
was finally opened after 5 years of construction. Bay South Garden will be open to the public start
from today from 5am to 2am and admission is free except for the cooled
conservatories. Cooled conservatories are openly from 9am to 9pm with ticket
prices ranging from $15 for child and $20 for adult.
