Singapore Zoo houses 315 species of animals in the Zoo with more than 2500 animals. 16% of the species are identified as protected and nearly extinctions species. Orang Utan

The Orang Utan is the flagship species of the Singapore Zoo. These highly intelligent animals have to be kept occupied or boredom will haunt them, which occurs ever so often in captivity. Singapore Zoo uses a technique known as behavioral enrichment to keep the Orang Utans busy throughout the whole day.

Fragile Forest

Fragile Forest highlight the fragility of ecosystems especially the rainforest and the mangrove habitat. The rainforest environment is recreated in the form of a 20,000 cubic meters flight area, one of the largest in the world. The flight area teams with a variety of rainforest species — iguanas, lemurs, fruit bats, mouse deer, butterflies, sloths, crowned pigeons and lories . Hundreds of mighty trees, shrubs, palms, delicate ferns, and undergrowth flourish. The chorus of insects, achieved through soundscaping, effectively recreates the forest ambience.

Elephant of Asia

Elephant of Asia is a one-hectare exhibit that showcases the largest land animals, and the colorful history and cultural elements that are associated with them. It boasts a mud wallow, bathing pool, viewing loft and rustic thatched huts with Myanmar-influenced architecture.

The Polar Bear exhibit gives visitors a close-up view of them swimming and resting, while the White Tiger exhibit offers the chance to see them walking and playing around their large compound. Reptile Garden features a range of scaly creatures, including Aldabra giant tortoise, the Komodo dragon, rhino iguana and visit to Wild Africa offers views of the giraffes , cheetahs ,white rhino, zebras, and the fierce African lion.
